Coach Clyde

With deep roots in both Japanese and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Coach Clyde started his martial arts journey in high school learning boxing and wrestling. Coach Clyde began training Jiu Jitsu in 2007 learning Gi and NoGi jiu jitsu. Coach Clyde attributes his style to the various coaches he's trained with throughout his journey. Coach Clyde brings a lifetime of athletic experience and a passion for competition, and martial arts to every class.

A brown belt under Robert Degle, Coach Clyde brings a modern style of NoGi jiu jitsu that embodies strength, honour, and service to the art. His training spans disciplines that have shaped his approach and deepened his respect and love for the "gentle art".

At Ancaster Jiu Jitsu, Coach Clyde leads with humility, teaches with purpose, and builds community through the shared journey of martial arts and community involvement.
